Downtown Boston Public Safety Summit
On October 30th, hundreds of residents and stakeholders gathered at the Downtown Boston Public Safety Summit for an evening of discussion and debate. The event was hosted at the Emerson Cutler Majestic Theater.
The Summit was a follow-up to our February 27th convening, where state and city elected officials, agency leaders, law enforcement partners, civic organizations, social services organizations, and business leaders and associations gathered to have an open, solution-focused conversation about congregate drug activity, criminal activity, addiction, and homelessness.

Public Safety Survey
In advance of the Summit, we repeated the exact survey that we administered in November 2024. In November 2024, 71% of Downtown residents reported feeling “less safe” than they did at the beginning of 2024. The most recent survey found that the percentage of residents who felt “less safe” today than they did at the beginning of 2025 dropped to 34%. 17% of residents reported feeling more safe today than they did at the beginning of 2025, compared to 2% in November 2024.
Congratulations to Our Frontline Hero Award Recipients!
